1.4.4. Blank I/O Modules

To maintain airﬂow and ensure correct operation when only one

RAID Controller is installed (12big Rack Fibre 8) or one Disk I/O

Module is installed (12big Rack Fibre Expansion), a Blank I/O mod-

ule must be installed in the vacant I/O module bay (Fig. 14).

CAUTION: Operation of the enclosure with ANY modules miss-

ing will disrupt the airﬂow and the drives will not receive sufﬁcient

cooling. It is ESSENTIAL that all apertures are ﬁlled before operating

the 12big Rack Fibre 8 and 12big Rack Fibre Expansion storage

systems.
